All about Blizzard’s Starcraft 2

During Blizzcon festival in Anaheim California on August 3 and 4 this year; Blizzard is giving out CD Key for their beta version of an upcoming game.

Is Starcraft 2 coming out this year?

Everyone is asking for the Starcraft Two release date. As much as I want it to hit stores this year, Blizzard said there wasn’t going to be any Starcraft 2 release this year.

When is Starcraft 2 coming out?

Gamestop listed the release date as 10/01/08. Given the track record of Blizzard, they would most likely hit that date.

Blizzard claimed that Starcraft 2 was already in development as early as 2003 right after the release of Warcraft 3 which they revealed during a panel discussion at Blizzard’s Worldwide Invitational event.

Blizzard showed a series of Starcraft 2 screenshots. We shall update and continously post Starcraft 2 screenshots as we get more of them in the future. For now, here are some of them.

Blizzard has made limited announcements in Starcraft 2 units especially in Zerg and Terran races; however, Blizzard gave up more information on Protoss.

Terran

Reapers – These are hybrid Marines who carry dual pistols and has the power to jump up and down using their jets. They are very good units to be used in elevated spots taking down units below them with ease.

StarCraft II is the continuation of the highly successful epic saga of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg. These three popular races are going against each other once again in the real-time strategy sequel to the legendary original, StarCraft. The three races armed with upgraded artillery, new high powered units would battle for their survival.

It was a long wait and people speculated a lot of things prior to the official announcement of Blizzard in South Korea. Some say it was going to be World of Starcraft (WOS), or it could be Diablo III, or another sequel of Starcraft.
