Mike Morhaime is the president of Blizzard Entertainment which created the huge game hits of Warcraft and Starcraft. He is said to be the guy who wants to make sure games are released at the highest quality as opposed to releasing ahead in time. Starcraft 2 would be out next year of 2008, eleven years after its first version. Activision has found it easy to merge with Vivendi Games, Blizzard Entertainment’s parent company as the company generates over $18.1 billion in revenues. Blizzard itselft is a behemoth with over $1 billion in revenues with over $520 million dollars in operating profits.
We should be expecting bigger and better games this time around. How about Diablo III?

Q: What was important to you in terms of how things worked out in this big merger?
A: The things that were important to us are the things that have always been important to us. Those are things like maintaining our creative control over Blizzard products. Also maintaining the culture and values that have made us successful in the past. Our branding is very important and our way of working.
Q: Was this something that you thought about for many years, like how to wind up in a company that was exactly where you wanted to be?
A: Not really. We were pretty content within the environment we were in. This opportunity presented itself and we were pretty excited about it.
